Babes Wodumo to Leave Lasting Legacy with Two Album Releases Before Retirement.

Babes Wodumo is set to leave a lasting legacy with two album releases before her retirement. Seven months after the tragic passing of Mampintsha, Babes Wodumo has announced that his last album will be released soon. Mampintsha sadly passed away on 22 December 2020 after suffering a stroke. This news came shortly after her management revealed she was working on two projects. Taking to social media, the Gqom queen revealed that the Big Nuz member had completed his album prior to his untimely death.

 

On the other hand, Babes Wodumo also made it known she would be dropping her project, in which she featured the late Big Nuz member. Mampintsha’s album is titled “Ngithethelele.”

A post shared by Bongekile Simelane A few weeks she was reported critically ill by the siZulu newspaper Isolezwe. The news came after she reportedly missed several gigs she was booked for, including the Durban July and Cotton Fest Durban.

 

However, she has since addressed the daring reports that thrust her into the top trends for the wrong reasons.

Her management made it known that she was booked outside of the country; hence they could not return on time for the two events slated for the first weekend of July.

In rubbishing the rumours, her management confirmed that she was busy working on two albums which are set to be dropped soon.

Part of the statement reads: “[Babes Wodumo] is in great health. Maybe her silence on social media is why they are assuming she is not well. She is currently busy with two albums, her own and Mampintshas,” Babes’ sister and manager Nondumiso Simelane said.

After she received numerous nominations at the Metro awards and didn’t win any awards she and her boyfriend at that time took it to social media to voice their disappointment with how she thought the awards were sold to other artist because she thought she deserved a win.

This led her to be suspended for 5 years at the Metro awards. In her career she has been subjected to many controversies. In December 2022 she lost her husband Mampintsha, leaving behind his wife and son Sponge. Weeks later in January 2023 Babes Wodumo lost her mother in law recently after her husband died.

During the years Babes has lost so much weight after her pregnancy and her fans have always supported her even after she was body-shamed. Recently Isolezwe has reported that the Queen of Gqom is sick and is in a very critical condition.
