Air-fried milk recipe



This easy air fryer dessert pays homage to a traditional Chinese dessert, fried milk. It’s also similar to the Spanish version, ‘leche frita’. Crispy on the outside, soft and custard-like on the inside, this cinnamon sugar-dusted sweet treat will soon become one of your favourite recipes.

10 Ingredients

* 1.2L milk

* 2 cinnamon sticks

* 2 strips of lemon rind

* 4 eggs

* 2 egg yolks

* 215g (1 cup) caster sugar

* 140g (1 cup) cornflour

* 2 tsp vanilla extract

* 120g (3/4 cup) plain flour

* Cinnamon sugar, to sprinkle

8 Method / Steps

Step 1

Grease and line a 20cm x 30cm lamington pan with baking paper.

Step 2

Place milk, cinnamon and lemon rind in a medium saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium heat.

Step 3

Whisk eggs, yolks, caster sugar, cornflour and vanilla in a large bowl until well combined. Strain milk mixture over the egg mixture and whisk until combined. Discard cinnamon sticks and rind.
