Multi-award-winning musician Makhadzi says she is ready to move on after her alleged split from Master KG earlier in the year as she teased new music from her upcoming album.

In January, Master KG, per Daily Sun, shared on social media that he and the Ghanama hitmaker had gone their separate ways. Per the report, he said they would continue to work together despite the collapse of their relationship.

Without mentioning names, Makhadzi earlier this week wrote: “Dear ex, please move on and be happy.”

In the Facebook video she shared, the Limpopo-born musician could be seen getting teary as a snippet of her single played in the background. Per her post, the single is featured in her upcoming album, Autorenewal.

“I am not crying because of I still love you; I am crying because [it] is not easy to start a new chapter of life. I wish you all the best,” she continued. “We must make sure our new partners treat us well so we can never think of turning back.”

Part of the song’s lyrics, loosely translated, ask for a partner to love and treat her well.

Makhadzi’s upcoming album also comes after she shared that she had parted ways with Open Mic Productions last month, under which she released her four studio albums. The musician and the record company parted ways after a three-year “fruitful and productive working relationship”.

In a statement, she said she decided not to renew her contract with Open Mic Productions because she wanted to focus on her own company, Makhadzi Entertainment, and “other business ventures”.
