Linguine alla puttanesca

Puttanesca is a fiery, easy sauce for pasta that can be made in less time than it takes to cook a pan of linguine.

 

Ingredients

  • 200g/7oz dried linguine
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 200g tin chopped tomatoes
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 2 salted anchovies, rinsed and boned, or 4 anchovy fillets
  • 2 pinches dried chilli flakes
  • 1 tbsp capers, rinsed
  • 12 black olives, stones removed if you wish
  • handful basil leaves
  • sea salt
