Cinnamon Baked Apples Recipe

Treat your family to this traditional and healthy pudding that will fill your kitchen with the delicious scent of spiced apple.

PREP TIME: 20 minutes
COOKING TIME: 40 minutes

Recipe Ingredients

6 Apples
125ml brown sugar
125ml Mixed Nuts, chopped
60ml Coconut Flakes
65ml raisins
65ml butter
3ml ground cinnamon
3ml ground ginger
2ml ground nutmeg

Recipe Method

1. preheat the oven to 180°C.

2. Cut the top off each apple (reserve for later). Using an apple corer, melon baller or spoon, hollow out the inner core and seeds from inside of each apple up to the bottom. Do not cut through the apple. Excluding the core and seeds, chop up the removed apple finely.

3. Combine the chopped apple, brown sugar, nuts, coconut, raisins, butter, cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg.

4. Place apple shells in a greased baking dish. Fill each cavity with the filling mixture. Sprinkle the remaining brown sugar-nut mixture on top of apples. Top with the lids.

5. Bake apples for 30 to 40 minutes or until desired tenderness, rotating the baking dish halfway through baking. Spoon juices remaining in a dish over apples and serve warm with Ice cream.
